This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

My name is: Dexter Louie

My age is:

My occupation is: Physician

Education and Qualifications:

B.A. - Stanford University; M.D. - Tulane University Medical School; J.D., M.P.A. - Golden Gate University

My wife and I have lived in Moraga since 1977. Our 4 children went through the Moraga public schools and were well-prepared for the future, both in terms of education and life skills.

I was first elected to the school board in 1998, in a Special Election, and have thoroughly enjoyed serving my community. For the past 14 years, it has been a great privilege, a unique opportunity, and a major responsibility, to be on the school board.

I believe in education. It is a wonderful thing. I see and fully support the district's and community's priorities: quality education, student safety, fiscal soundness and stability. I want to see our students succeed, reach their highest potentials, and become lifelong learners.

I also believe in good health, both physical and mental. I am on the Board of the California Medical Association Foundation (8 years) , and have been Board Chair for 4 years. I initiated the Foundation's project to prevent childhood obesity, which has now become a national model. We need to support good health and physical activity in our schools.
