Education and Qualifications:

My specific expertise is financial management, accounting, advanced statistics, and relevant political experience. I served as a partner of Deloitte & Touche CPA firm where I headed up their regional governmental auditing program and was the national and international banking partner for six years. My expertise includes being an active CPA and leader in the profession.

Experience includes being a faculty member at UC Davis, Sacramento State, Stanford, and currently the TransAmerica Professor of Finance at Saint Mary's College of California. I was the lead partner CPA on the San Francisco Community College, Peralta Community College District, City and County of San Francisco, BART, Port of Oakland, Port of San Francisco, and other governmental audits. I served as the president of the California Society of CPAs (34,000 members) and elected to the AICPA governing council (382,000 members). My teaching areas are financial management, advanced financial modeling, entrepreneurship, accounting, computer science, and statistics. My political experience includes being the mayor and chair of the planning commission for the city of Lafayette.

Relevant education includes an MBA (Finance and Accounting) from the University of Michigan and a D.Eng (Engineer) from Stanford University in Advanced Statistical Modeling.
