Smart Voter Official Statement for Randall Stone

Candidate for
Member City Council; City of Chico

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

As a successful business owner and 17-year resident of Chico, I'm proud of Chico's reputation as a leader in cultural and recreational opportunities. I have owned and operated a professional financial management firm, directed the Special Olympics of Butte County, and studied finance, economics, and public administration at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The State's fiscal crises have caused unprecedented financial challenges that endanger our economic stability. In the last year alone, I have helped bring an estimated 75-fulltime equivalent, annualized jobs to the City of Chico and much needed revenue to restore our oldest community neighborhoods.

As a job creator and self-employed professional financial manager, I understand how to coordinate capital and operating budgets and will place public safety as a top priority. We need safe streets where our children and seniors can be comfortable enjoying our parks and waterways. High density development must not be allowed to alter the character of our classic neighborhoods while still being affordable and maintaining a transit-centric urban core. I will enhance bicycle networks for safe transit throughout the city. We deserve a safe and economically stable community. We deserve exceptional leadership and strong professional management. Vote Randall Stone for Council.
