Mayor Schwab's voting record reflects her values.

1. Strengthen our Economy

  • Approved balanced budgets while facing decreasing revenues and reducing expenses by $12M while preserving core services
  • Created jobs through green jobs training partnership with Butte Community College
  • Funded Economic Development initiatives through the Innovation Lab, 3Core and CEPCO to support base level employers

2. Plan for Responsible Growth
  • Adopted 2030 General Plan, reflecting the community's commitment to balanced growth and conservation
  • Fought to preserve 700+ acres of Bidwell Ranch near the park as open space
  • Expanded creekside greenways with purchase of property along Comanche Creek
  • Prevented development encroachment near our foothills

3. Protect the Environment
  • Developed programs and initiatives to distinguish Chico as an environmental leader as chair of the Sustainability Task Force
  • Endorsed the US Mayor's Climate Control Agreement
  • Oversaw the completion of a Green House Gas emissions audit and development of Climate Action Plan
  • Introduced a recommendation to prohibit City purchase of single serving bott es of water using city funds for city-funded or sponsored events
  • Developed Sustainable Business Rating Program
  • Enacted wood burning restrictions to improve air quality

4. Enhance Social Equity

  • Authored Diversity Action Plan to promote inclusivity in decision making and increase accessibility to City services
  • Approved and built over 500 units of work force housing, including Habitat for Humanity homes, Harvest Park Apartments, Murphy Commons, Parkside Terrace and Bidwell Park Apartments providing affordable homes for those in need
  • Supported Chico Palio funding
  • Approved General Vang Pao memorial
