Written Endorsements

Maureen Kirk, Butte County Supervisor, District 3, 2006 - present

Tami Ritter has been a valuable asset to the City of Chico through her activism and leadership of organizations working for social benefit. She has undertaken challenging projects and seen them through successfully. She has demonstrated an ability to work with diverse groups and unify them towards a common goal. Tami Ritter definitely has my support.

Heather Schlaff, Community Organizer

I have known Tami since I was a member of the Board that hired her as Director of the Torres Homeless Shelter. We were fortunate to choose her as the Shelter's first Executive Director. Without her initial guidance and commitment, the shelter would not be the success it is today.

Both before and after working for the shelter, she has dedicated herself to the enhancement of Chico. Her community involvement includes the Work Training Center, Catalyst, the Interfaith Council, Habitat for Humanity and the League of Women Voters.

Tami's sense of commitment, responsibility, and integrity in both her personal and professional life is exemplary. I am fortunate to be her friend and proud to support her candidacy for City Council.

Mary Goloff, Chico City Council and CSU, Chico Instructor

I've known Tami Ritter for more than 10 years and believe she exemplifies the best qualities a community will find in a city council person.

Tami is an experienced community leader with a proven track record for taking on tough challenges. She is bright and insightful and combines her keen mind with a talent for working with people from across the community.

I have all the confidence in the world Tami Ritter has the talent, drive and tenacity to be a wonderful addition to the Chico City Council. Please join me in giving her your support on November 6th.

Linda Lunsford, Teacher, Retired

As a retired teacher I value team work, an open mind, integrity and vision. Tami has all those qualities and I'm excited to see her run for Chico City Council. Her past experiences in community organizations qualify her for this position and I feel confident that her intelligence and energy will be a wonderful asset to our city government.

Kate Transchel, CSU, Chico Professor

I am quite pleased to enthusiastically endorse Tami Ritter's candidacy for Chico City Council. I have known Tami for over 10 years, and I can think of few people in our community who are as capable and qualified to serve the interests of Chico as she is. She is an experienced community leader guided by a strong sense of social justice and grass-roots activism. She has already served our community admirably through her work with the Torres Homeless Shelter, Catalyst, and Habitat for Humanity, to name a few. Her experience, integrity, and vision will make her a valuable asset for city of Chico.

Lisa Holeman, Owner, As You Like it Weddings, and Butte College Instructor

I've always admired Tami's ability to do whatever it takes to "get the job done". I can remember, before the Torres Shelter was built, calling her at 11pm to find her doing laundry for the people that the Shelter Partnership was serving. Her commitment to making a positive difference, and her dedication to the City of Chico, are demonstrated by the numerous organizations she has served. I've always been in awe of her ability to communicate, get right to the point, and resolve problems. Her passionate desire to serve our community is amazing and I am extremely confident that given the chance, she would have a huge positive impact on this community by being a City Council Member.

Jim Walker, PAC, current City Council Member, and Vice-Mayor

When I chose not to run for re-election to City Council, I hoped that an individual would emerge that had the qualities I find most important in a candidate. Those qualities include a commitment to public service, an understanding of public financial matters, and a willingness to evaluate each decision with an open mind and not adhere to a rigid ideology. That person is Tami Ritter.
