A Record of Accomplishments for San Leandro

Creating Jobs and Making Government Fiscally Responsible

We've moved forward with new developments that created jobs. The new Kaiser project is the largest development in San Leandro's history. We also opened the Creekside Plaza development, which provides 1,000 jobs. And I fought hard to pass Measure Z so we could balance our budget.

Making San Leandro the Future of High Tech

Earlier this year, the Fiber Loop project became operational. Also known as Lit San Leandro, it provides businesses with wireless Internet 2,000 times faster than the average U.S. connection. In fact, we now have the fastest network of any U.S. city, which means we can attract the type of high-tech businesses that normally go to the Silicon Valley.

Protecting the Public

We've worked together to find the resources we needed to hire new police officers. But we must do more. Going forward, I am working on a plan to increase police technology, so officers have the tools they need to protect the public.

Improving Quality of Life

We're doing a lot to make life better here. We opened our new senior center, increased affordable housing and transit-oriented development, reduced blight, and made lighting and sidewalk improvements downtown. Currently, I'm working to save San Leandro Hospital.
