When our sons were young, I managed and coached soccer at Bushrod Soccer Club for three years. Still remember the time gunshots rang out and the head coach ordered all the kids to "hit the dirt."

North Oakland has gotten better in many ways and gotten more dangerous at the same time.

Both our sons graduated Claremont MS and Tech.

My younger son was class president and school president at both Claremont and Tech.
