Morgan Mack-Rose has been a resident of San Leandro since 2002 and is the parent of two girls, both of whom attend San Leandro public schools. Morgan's commitment to equitable public education lead her to become an active parent in San Leandro schools beginning in 2004, before her children were even old enough to attend school.

In 2008, Morgan was elected to the At-Large seat of the SLUSD Board of Trustees.

Morgan has worked hard over the past four years to lead the District through the worst budget crisis in California's history. Despite unprecedented challenges, she is proud to have overseen Measure B capital improvements, including the Performing Arts Center and the Fred T. Korematsu Campus which came in on-time and under budget. She also worked to pass Measure M which will bring $50 million dollars in improvements to athletic and recreation facilities throughout the District.

In addition to capital improvements, Morgan has emphasized the importance of transparency and cooperation when working with all bargaining units to weather this difficult time in education. She is extremely proud of the teachers and staff who have made shared sacrifices on behalf of San Leandro students. She has also worked to increase accountability at all levels so our students have the educational opportunities they need and deserve.

Morgan Mack-Rose holds a B.A. in Anthropology from U.C. Santa Cruz with an emphasis in public planning and institutional thinking. Her professional back ground is financial development for non-profit organizations. In addition to serving on the School Board, she serves on the San Leandro Redevelopment Successor Agency Oversight Board.
