School days should be the happiest days of a child's life. They should be days filled with friendship, challenge, excitement and inspiration; a time when children can explore who they want to be and what they want to accomplish in the future.

If elected my top priorities will be: EQUITY Creating equal access to inspiring education programs for all our students. We need to be meeting the needs of our average students, high achievers, students with special needs, English language learners and students who have become disengaged with school. As a Masters degree candidate in Education Best Practices I have studied programs which help students through cross curriculum, creative teaching strategies I believe will be helpful in Fremont Unified. INNOVATION 2077 is the year that a child born today will retire. There is no way to know what today's student will need to know in the next 65 years but we do know that our children will need to be flexible, problem solvers who are able to work with well with others. My goal is to have our children graduate prepared to be part of the 21st Century Global Economy. ADVOCACY In the last 4 years, Fremont has lost over $100 million dollars in funding. If Proposition 30 or 38 do not pass we will be looking at even more severe cuts to education. As a member of the Measure K organizing and oversight committee I have helped Fremont Unified raise funds to keep programs alive. If elected I will continue to be an advocate for education. I will meet with our legislators, as I have done as Fremont Council PTA Legislation Chair, and I will be out in our community letting our neighbors who have no children in k-12 education, and business owners, know the state of education in Fremont and how they can help.

It would be an honor to have your support so that I can continue the work I have already started, supporting our students.
