Four Years Ago, I sought elective office and won. Today, I serve as the Vice-President of San Leandro School Board.

It has been a challenging four years due to the state fiscal crisis and cuts forced on school districts.

However, I made the hard choices necessary to balance our budget while preserving student programs. I insisted upon accountability at all levels of the school district, including the Superintendent's Office.

I collaborated with my fellow Trustees in overseeing the construction of the 9th Grade Campus and Arts Education Center. Both projects were finished on time and under budget.

I supported Measure M, a school bond that will renovate Burrell Field and school athletic fields.

Today, I wish to continue my public service to the people of San Leandro as your next Council Member for District 6.

I am running for City Council to bring real reform to San Leandro. Business as usual must end at City Hall.

Specifically, we must diffuse the city's financial time bomb before it explodes. We can not talk about pension reform yet accomplish nothing.

Runaway employee pension costs are consuming a large and growing share of the city budget. Funds that should be used to repair roads, maintain senior services, support social services, keep libraries and pools open and hire new police officers are instead being used to pay for employee pensions.

I PLEDGE TO YOU THAT I WILL WORK HARD, ACT WITH INTEGRITY, BE RESPONSIVE TO THE DIVERSE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY, AND ALWAYS PUT THE PEOPLE OF SAN LEANDRO FIRST!
