American Jobs 101 Plan

By Johnny M. Tacherra

Candidate for United States Representative; District 16

This information is provided by the candidate
The number one issue facing America today is the economy. As a Congressman, I must do everything I can in my power to help turn America's economy around. However, I also realize that it is unlikely that any one single Congressman is going to be able to change the economic condition of America. So, in addition to always voting the right way in Congress, I have created my innovative and exclusive "American Jobs 101" plan.
American Jobs 101 Plan The number one issue facing America today is the economy.

This plan is not a piece of legislation--rather, it is an educational plan based on local leadership. The inspiration for this plan comes from Thomas Jefferson who said, "if all the American people know all of the facts they will never make a mistake."

You see, one of the main reasons for our economic problems in America today is that people do not understand where jobs come from and what policies make for a healthy economy. In fact, it's quite common for those people who are most negatively affected by a down economy to support politicians and policies that cause and exacerbate their problems.

I really believe that we cannot have a lasting "economic recovery" until the American people understand the source of American jobs. In short, Americans need to be educated about American jobs. I plan on doing my part by educating the 16th district through the "American Jobs 101" plan. I want to teach this district the truth that the main reason for economic woes in America is the expansion of the federal government beyond the limits expressly authorized in the Constitution. More specifically, this district must know that we have a huge problem with unconstitutional taxation and regulation on American businesses, and it is costing us jobs and overall economic vitality.

I plan on educating the people in this district through live events, public speaking, internet videos, and social media campaigns. Here is a synopsis of the American Jobs 101 message:

Where Jobs Come From Jobs do not come from the government. Jobs come from businesses. It's that simple. I am a 3rd generation dairy farmer, so allow me to use a farm analogy. As we all know, farmers produce food. So, here's a question for you--if you want more food produced, how do you get farmers to produce more food? Would you confiscate over 50% of the farmer's land and then demand that he produce more food? Seriously, what would happen if the government confiscated over 50% of farmer's land, and then demanded that farmers produce more food with less land. Would it work? Of course not. Farmers would suffer, be under great distress, and ultimately, everyone would lose because the world would have less food.

It's exactly the same with jobs. The government currently confiscates well over 50% of businesses productivity once you factor in all taxes and regulations. Then, the government expects businesses to create more jobs. It's simply impossible. Just like the farmer can't produce more food with less land, so a business cannot produce more jobs with less profit. Businesses can produce more jobs when the government takes its hands out of the pockets of businesses and keeps it heels off the necks of business owners.

A fundamental truth is this--the federal government cannot create any jobs. All federal intervention in the free market through taxation and regulation is destructive. Therefore, it must be understood that federal legislation designed to "create jobs" cannot and will not create any true jobs. It can only serve to reduce the amount of destruction being done in American business. For example, let's say a business called Acme Widgets has the capacity to provide for 100 jobs. But, after burdensome taxation and regulation, they can only provide for 60 jobs. If legislation is passed to relieve the business owner of taxes and regulations, he may be able to provide for 70 jobs instead of 60. Legislators would herald their success as having created 10 new jobs or 16% job growth--or something like that. But, the truth of the matter is that they only lessened the destructive force of government which is still hindering 30 additional jobs from being filled.

The reason why the government can't create jobs is because it can't spend one dollar without first taking that dollar from someone else. Only individuals in the free market can actually generate wealth through their own productivity using ingenuity, hard work, personal property, and their own human capital (in other words--blood, sweat, and tears).

The Need to Remove Restrictions In order to create more high-paying jobs, we have to reduce and ultimately, eliminate unconstitutional regulation and taxation on American businesses. The beauty of the free market is that it unleashes what Ronald Reagan called the "individual genius" of Americans to do everything in their power to create wealth and opportunities for themselves and their families. In a free society, when individuals are at liberty to pursue their own self-interest, they end up creating more opportunities for many more people. Since the market is free, individuals can only attain their own goals by meeting the needs and wants of others, thereby pushing the entire human race forward. The result is abundance, and it is something that America has uniquely experienced for the better part of two centuries.

That's a quick synopsis of the plan. In short, my American Jobs 101 plan is an educational proposition designed to proactively lead the district back to a place of economic opportunity. In short, I will take the message of job creation through reduction and elimination of burdensome and unconstitutional taxation and regulation on Job Creators (i.e. business owners) to all sectors of society including but not limited to:

Agricultural Industry--I will work hand-in-hand with the Ag industry to give speeches and spread industry specific literature to members of the ag community, including farmworkers, so they understand how federal legislation affects their own pocketbooks.

Education--I will travel to schools, colleges, and universities and speak to our students and distribute our literature.

Small Businesses--I will speak at Chamber meetings, business rallies, small business networks, etc.

Everywhere--Anywhere and everywhere, I will speak and teach our district specifically and exactly what it will take to create jobs here again! We will capture this message on video, print, audio, etc. and publish it in every medium available--and we will take particular advantage of the internet to advance this message.

I proposed The American Jobs 101 Plan and am committed to this idea. And, not only do I have the plan put together, but I already have a system designed and a team in place to execute this plan once I am in office. In short, I have the plan and the system to execute the plan.
