Dustin has dedicated his life to public service. A native Californian, in 2001, he moved to Washington D.C. to start his career in the U.S. House of Representatives. Dustin spent five years in D.C. moving from the front desk to senior staff, serving in this role for three Members of Congress. In 2006, Dustin returned home to California and began work with one of the best run governments in the country, the County of San Diego. He is currently the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Chairman of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, Bill Horn. Throughout his career, Dustin has been responsible for numerous and diverse policy issues including healthcare, agriculture, appropriations and land use.

Dustin is also involved with his community. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Miramar Ranch North Planning Committee and is a delegate to the California Republican Party as well as an alternate to the Central Committee for the County Republican Party. In 2010, he was the recipient of the Wendell Cutting Award for Legislative Staff Member of the Year.

Dustin is the son of a teacher and an entrepreneur and has seen firsthand the problems with our education system and the anti-business climate of our state. As a Member of the State Assembly, Dustin will work tirelessly to cut taxes, reduce regulation, promote education reform and make our streets safer for our families.

Dustin is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara and holds a Master's degree in Public Policy from American University in D.C. He and his wife Jennifer, a Registered Nurse, are residents of Scripps Ranch and the proud parents of a beautiful 1-year old daughter, Reagan.
