Statement of Candidate for Member of the State Assembly, District 12

By Christopher Mateo

Candidate for Member of the State Assembly; District 12

This information is provided by the candidate
Christopher Mateo Vice Mayor, City of Lathrop
My education and qualification are:

As a US Navy, Vietnam era, Veteran, I proved my loyalty, bravery, integrity, and patriotism to the United States of America. I believe that serving the United States Navy, which is one of the best organization in the world, is the ultimate sacrifice to protect and defend our country.

My experience, as the Vice Mayor of the City of Lathrop and as a Board Member of the San Joaquin Council of Governments, gives me a clear understanding of leadership in government service. I want to represent you, the residents of the 12th Assembly District of California to our state legislature because I am concerned about the economic crisis, the educational deterioration and the massive unemployment in our state today.

My degree in Economics, which I received from San Jose State University, will give me the necessary tools to help balance California's budget. I would prefer to see a Public University in our area rather than build more prison facilities.

It is time to make the Central Valley the next Silicon Valley. Job creation is one of my highest priorities. By integrating high-tech and agriculture, I believe we can maximize food production and thereby create more jobs.

These are just a few of my innovative ideas in order to raise the standard of living in our District. With your vote and support, we can make this happen.
