Jason Hodge has made a lifelong commitment to making his community a better place. He has spent time as a business entrepreneur, a firefighter, and as an elected member of the Oxnard Harbor District where he focuses on environmental stewardship, economic opportunities, local job creation, and safety. By bringing together community leaders and stakeholders from the private and public sectors, Jason has worked hard to boost economic output and create jobs, while decreasing the port's environmental footprint.

Jason also served as the Vice President and Political Director of the Ventura County Professional Firefighters Association, where he worked to build relationships with elected officials from both parties, community leaders, and the interested public.

Jason wants to give people faith in their government. All other priorities like jobs, funding education, health care reform and environmental protection cannot move forward until the public believes in the effectiveness and efficiency of our government services.

He believes we need to reform our dysfunctional system and stop the roller coaster of cuts and furloughs that our public employees have been subjected to. Cuts to vital public services affect our most vulnerable citizens and the young. Crumbling infrastructure affects our ability to recruit employers. Cuts to education affect the workforce of the next generation.

Finally, Jason Hodge is known as a fair-minded official who works well with others. When building support for legislation, it is critical to bring in co-authors, sponsors and the public into the process and California needs someone who brings people together. Jason believes that everyone needs to know they have a seat at the table.
