California's government continues to fund ineffective programs or create tax breaks that favor the wealthy in our stateI am the Democrat who doesn't believe you need higher taxes. Our state government is failing, California's government continues to fund ineffective programs or create tax breaks that favor the wealthy in our state. We all want our government to operate within its means, and I believe tax payers are in favor of paying taxes as long as they are going towards effective government services. By raising certain taxes to provide money for government spending, this in turn generates economic growth and a healthy economy. It is not right to raise taxes on the elderly and unemployed, while the wealthiest people making continuing to pay minimal state taxes. As State Senator of District 19, I will work to ensure that California's government does not spend more than it receives and challenge the status quo of our tax policies. |
