THE TIME IS NOW

Biography The son of immigrants, Guillermo "Bill" Gonzalez grew up in large family of ten children in a blue collar working-class neighborhood of Covina in the east San Gabriel Valley. He attended El Monte and Covina public schools and graduated from Northview High School in Covina.

Upon graduation from high school Bill worked at a local grocery company and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 630. He went on to earn his bachelors degree in political science from the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB) and his masters degree in public policy from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.

Since graduating from college Bill has devoted his life and entire professional career to serving others through public service. While completing his undergraduate studies at UCSB he was appointed by the court to serve as an advocate for neglected and abused children.

Upon graduation from UCSB, he was selected from a highly competitive national pool of candidates and awarded a Legislative Fellowship with the California State Legislature. He served as a legislative aide and consultant to the Speaker of the California State Assembly where he worked on education, health, and housing policy.

Bill also served for nearly a decade as Deputy State Director and senior advisor to United States Senator Dianne Feinstein of California. During his tenure with Senator Feinstein he worked on a wide range of public policy issues concerning health, the environment and natural resources, education, public safety, and immigration policy.

Bill also worked as a senior analyst with the Government Accountability Office (GAO) overseeing federal economic recovery funds and public infrastructure projects in California. More recently he was appointed as Director of Government Affairs for the Ventura County Medi-Cal Managed Care Commission. Bill and his wife Dr. Guadalupe Gonzalez have three beautiful children.
