I registered as a Republican. I would call my values conservative, particularly on fiscal matters.

I have learned that one should never say never and should never say always. This is particularly true in the political arena and will be true in Congress.

I can listen to all sides of an issue, boil it down to the essential questions, and work with anyone and everyone to reach a fair resolution.

I am not taking campaign donations. My vote is not for sale.

I follow the 2-4-6 rule. Six years is the longest time I will spend in office. Four years is about right. After two years if I have not kept my promises to you I will get up, get out of the way, and let someone else come in.

I will lead by example. I will pay 20% of my salary to the Treasury to reduce the national debt. I will not accept the Cadillac health care plan Congress gives itself. I will vote to have every law ever passed that gives Congress special privileges that are not available to all Americans repealed immediately.

I will never forget that I work for the people and that as a Congressman they have placed a special trust and belief in me that I will always uphold.
