As a lifelong Democrat I am committed to ensuring that we have a strong, vibrant and relevant local Democratic Party. Additionally, while San Francisco is solidly Democratic, we need to promote voter registration and turnout as we are often the margin of victory for Democratic candidates statewide. I have been an active member of the local Democratic Party for many years- having served as Chair in 2004 and on the executive committee on many occasions. As a former elected member of the Board of Supervisors and Community College Board I bring a broad range of experience and understanding of the issues and how they impact San Francisco. As a former member of the campaign staff for Senator Barbara Boxer, Leo McCarthy for Senate and Rep. Nancy Pelosi I will bring critical insights regarding the needs of our endorsed candidates and their campaigns. I have helped to organize the San Francisco field office during election cycles. Additionally, I have served on numerous non-profit boards designed to improve our community as well as educate people regarding critical issues- all of these experiences I bring to bear on my work at the DCCC. I have worked extensively on Get Out the Vote organizing and efforts in almost every election cycle since I have been old enough to vote, and have volunteered and participated in countless campaigns for candidates and issues. I bring a level of experience, sound judgment and passion to the SFDCCC. I hope that this next election cycle we can increase voter education, registration and turnout- the primary mission of the DCCC. We need to elevate our discourse so that more voters are encouraged to participate and become engaged in the issues. I would also like to see us reinstate the permanent precinct captain program that we established while I was Party Chair.
