Local Roots: Mary has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to Chula Vista! Mary's family has called Chula Vista home since 1919. She graduated magna cum laude from SDSU, raised her family here and served as a longtime community volunteer.

Local Values: As Councilmember, Mary co-chaired the University search taskforce, secured funding for sidewalks in South Chula Vista, and fought for a bayfront plan to serve our community. She convinced the city to build Harborside Park instead of high-density apartments.

As Assemblywoman, Mary improved housing options and job training programs for veterans, was appointed to the working group to secure a reliable water supply, and promoted small businesses.

"Back to Basics" Plan: Mary will put public safety first in the budget process and improve police staffing levels to keep our neighborhoods safe. She will prioritize basic services, including street repairs, traffic improvements and youth programs. "I love this community and want to protect our quality of life now and the future. I want to bring Chula Vista together, standing up for neighborhoods and encouraging quality economic development that enhances our city and creates jobs we need."
