I was born in San Jose California in 1958 and raised in Los Angeles in a middle class home. I am the truck driver. I am the small business manager running against career politicians and bureaucrats with money. I am running for County Supervisor because I want to give the electorate a better conservative choice at the polls.

I am outraged that most of the elected officials are not serving as true public servants but as political insiders. I strongly believe that elected officials should have made contributions to small business communities and corporate environments in the private sector long before they consider public service.

I am a common sense manager who started in fast food service at the age of 14. I have worked hard all my life. I believe everyone deserves a leg up not a handout. Self reliance should be our goal away from entitlements. I am fiscally conservative and I need broad support from every taxpayer because it is the taxpayers that deserve my first consideration in every decision. The greater good must prevail if elected officials are to preach fairness and equality.

I am alarmed that San Diego County Government is more concerned about eye-gnats around Lake Hodges and less concerned that the desalinization plant is stalled after more than 10 years of planning. I believe in clean air and clean abundant water resources. There are course corrections that need to be made but I need to get inside the system to see opportunities, set priorities and make improvements.

If elected, I promise to walk the precincts each month and speak personally to constituents. I want to learn what concerns they have. I will return power to the people and do what they want me to do, not what I think I should do. I will govern by the will of the people. My voice will be the people's voice.

A vote for Stephen Pate is a vote for the taxpayer.
