FISCAL REFORM FOR OUR COMMUNITY COLLEGES

We must defend our students against Project Labor Agreements made for the unions and not for the free and open competitive bidding on contracts
PLAs (Project Labor Agreements) are contracts drawn up as taxpayer handouts to union-friendly contractors that benefit less than 17% of the overall workforce -- eliminating 83% of potential workers who have no opportunity to be involved with that particular contract.

Not only do they eliminate virtually all competition for construction projects, they create a union-owned monopoly on billions of dollars in public construction projects.

They are often voted on -- and locked in -- to benefit campaign contributors, developers, and special interests who have successfully elected boardmembers of certain political persuasion. This is taxpayer-funded "Pay-to-Play" politics at work, and it's wrong.

As a Trustee, I will be your advocate for open and transparent contracts and financial decisions that benefit our students and taxpayers.
