Rethinking How We Spend Our Education Dollars

The only candidate whose education, career and experience are relevant to the job.

It is essential that we reassert the need to "invest in our children"....our greatest natural resource. To do so we must:

• Develop a new and rational school finance system...resources to the classroom
• Target existing funds so that every dollar counts
• Provide fiscal/management assistance to school districts
• Expand early childhood development
• Adjust class size to meet student need
• Invest in research and development that provide new techniques for teachers

Career: Served K-12 education for 36 years in school districts and county offices of education as Administrator, Deputy Superintendent of Business and Finance-CFO and as a university professor.

Experience: Finance reform, legislation, management assistance, employee benefits, curriculum reforms, business operations, classroom instruction, community partnerships, technology, adult education, class size reduction and special education.

I am married, a 33 year resident of San Diego, with children who graduated from SDUSD.
