Smart Voter Official Statement for Tam Truong

Candidate for
Council Member; City of San Jose; Council District 4

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Occupation: Police detective/Businessman
Age: 30
Education and Qualifications:

As a police officer, public safety is a high priority for me. The only way to restore public safety is control our spending including pension reform. I support Mayor Reed's pension reform. We need to stop the erosion of our services. Controlling costs is critical to restoring services to our residents including opening our libraries and community centers full time, and increasing our police officers and firefighters.

My experience and fiscal conservatism have earned me the endorsement of Mayor Reed, Vice Mayor Nguyen, Councilmember Constant, and the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber PAC.

I immigrated from Vietnam to the United States with my family in 1991, and graduated from Silver Creek High School, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration of Justice from San Jose State University (2004) and a Master's Degree of Business Administration from University of Phoenix (2007).

Assigned to District 4 as a Patrol Officer, I made significant progress on some of the most pressing issues that affected District 4, including homeless encampment, traffic enforcement, and narcotic enforcement.

I serve as Corresponding Secretary of Berryessa Citizens Advisory Council (BCAC) - dedicated to the enrichment of the Berryessa community. Vote Tam Truong for City Council. http://www.truongforcitycouncil.com, or call 408-372-0901.
