Occupation: School Board Member
Education and Qualifications:

School Board Member. Community Leader. Problem Solver.

I've proven my effectiveness these last 8 years, leading our school district by holding administrators, teachers and staff accountable. I balanced a $330 million budget every year and made tough decisions to make schools better. I brought people together to solve problems as President of the San Jose Unified Board of Education and the President of the Santa Clara County School Boards Association.

As an independent leader I'll stand up to special interests and and put the tax payer's interests first. I'll continue my bold leadership to forge sustainable reforms to the City's pension system and eliminate "status quo" spending. I will focus on restoration of our police and fire departments, fiscal discipline and financial solvency.

A real plan for San Jose's future includes cutting wasteful spending and senseless red tape that keeps businesses from creating jobs, holding bureaucrats accountable, building partnerships to make schools better and safer and making gang prevention and protecting neighborhoods the City's top priority.

I'm asking for your vote to keep our neighborhoods safe, balance the budget, and eliminate barriers to businesses to bring jobs to San Jose.
