Smart Voter Official Statement for Brian O'Neill

Candidate for
Council Member; City of San Jose; Council District 10

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Occupation: Santa Clara County Senior Appraiser
Education and Qualifications:

We stand at a turning point in San Jose's history. Our city faces an unprecedented budget crisis and divisive political strife, but I believe San Jose has the potential to grow stronger than ever.

I am running for City Council District 10 to build coalitions and lead San Jose on the path to economic growth, creating jobs and restoring neighborhood services. Through collaboration we can create a sustainable budget, increase city revenues and craft comprehensive pension reform.

As a former small business owner, I have experienced how difficult it can be to conduct business in San Jose. As a councilmember, I will work to streamline efficiencies to support existing businesses and create incentives for new businesses to open their doors in San Jose.

My family and I are active members of the Almaden Valley community. I have experience running my own appraisal service business and over the past 15 years have served our community as a Senior Real Estate Appraiser for the Santa Clara County Assessor's Office.

Only together can we end the divisiveness in San Jose and reinvigorate our local economy for a better San Jose. I respectfully ask for your vote on June 5.
