Education and Qualifications:

Jimmy Nguyen will be a San Jose City Councilmember we can trust. As San Jose faces its current budget crisis, we need a fiscal conservative who is independent enough to challenge the status quo.

Jimmy Nguyen will seek to cap all executive salaries at a rate of pay not to exceed the Governor of California. The bureaucracy is out of control. San Jose currently has a city manager, an assistant city manager, seven deputy or equivalent city managers and 27 department heads. Jimmy will seek to eliminate and consolidate this overhead.

Jimmy Nguyen opposes new taxes until the city gets its administrative house in order. He will fight to restore our public safety budget and seek to lower the response time for residential crimes. He will work to ensure libraries and community centers are open and staffed.

Finally, as an independent thinker who grew up in district 8, Jimmy Nguyen will fight hard and play fair. He won't use fear to drive a political agenda and he will work for real pension reform that will pass muster in the courts.
