Occupation: Councilmember District 8
Age: 58
Education and Qualifications:

It has been an honor to serve you and your neighborhood as your Councilmember for the past four years. I'm running for re-election to continue as your advocate at City Hall. I put my community first by making tough decisions on fair, sustainable pension reform measures that are essential for preserving public safety, core neighborhood and City services, and tackling San Jose's budget deficit.

Today, I'm optimistic about an improving local economy and new job creation. We've done much to improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods in District 8. We've secured funding for Highway 101/Tully improvements now nearing completion, 101/Capitol/Yerba Buena interchange, and the VTA Light Rail extension to Eastridge. Together we saved Lake Cunningham Skate Park, maintained services at Meadowfair Community Center, and saved Municipal Water from privatization and skyrocketing rate hikes.

My commitment and decisions on tough issues have always been in the best interest of the residents in District 8 and the people of San Jose. My reelection is endorsed by Mayor Reed, Vice Mayor Nguyen, San Jose/Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and many more. I respectfully ask for your vote on June 5th.
