County Supervisor; Santa Clara County; Supervisorial District 3

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Occupation: Member, Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors
Age: 55
Education and Qualifications:

Improving your quality of life has been my top priority as your County Supervisor. For the past four years, I've focused on strengthening our local economy, creating new jobs, providing quality healthcare programs and public safety services, reducing crime, easing traffic congestion, expanding renewable energy production, and investing your tax dollars responsibly.

In my first term, my accomplishments included: securing funding for transportation projects that will ease your commute, including the BART to San Jose extension, upgrades to the County's expressway system, extending VTA Light Rail to Eastridge Mall, and improvements to HWY 101 and the Tully Road, Capitol Expressway, and Yerba Buena interchanges; approving a new ambulance service, which will save taxpayers millions of dollars and improve 911-response times; protecting farmland and open space; and, despite budget cuts, continued funding for gang prevention, senior nutrition programs, and expanded hours at County pharmacies in Sunnyvale and Milpitas. I also improved government transparency by introducing new Sunshine Laws.

In my next term, I will continue to focus on strengthening our economy, creating new jobs, improving education, protecting our environment, and expanding access to healthcare and programs for seniors and youth. I respectfully ask for your vote.
