Candidate for
Member, Board of Supervisors; County of San Bernardino; District 5

This information is provided by the candidate

Being a voice for the poor and disadvantaged, as well as serving my community, has always been a central part of my life. After learning about the need for change in our county government, I felt moved to help and serve.

My long-time organizing experience in voter engagement and community activism will transfer well to constituent engagement and proactive solutions. I have spent years fighting for basic human rights internationally + which translates into employee and workers rights, and constituent concerns locally. As a former preschool teacher and active community volunteer, I have worked with children of all ages, and have experience providing art classes for at-risk youth. I have helped immigrants with citizenship assistance, and fund-raised for the needy so they can have access to food, shelter, and more. I also bring a well-rounded skill set of budgeting, setting and juggling multiple priorities and concerns that will lend well to the various functions of the County Supervisor position.

This is not my first campaign. I have volunteered for Governor Jerry Brown's 2010 election, Propositions 24 &25, Janice Hahn for Congress, Juan Vargas for State Senate, Gil Cedillo for State Senate, and Antonio Villaraigoso for Mayor. I have also volunteered for the following presidential campaigns: Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, John Kerry, and Al Gore.
