In 2010, Williams was re-elected to the County Committee for a third 2-yr. term. Prior to his election to the County Committee in 2006, Harold Williams served the California Democratic Party for over eleven years at the grass roots level as a member of several democratic clubs, and the Democratic State Central Committee (DSCC) as chair of the 55th Assembly District Committee (ADC). By virtue of being Chair of the 55th ADC through DSCC, he was an ex-officio member of the County Central Committee. During that period, he kept his commitment to the Party to align with the mission and vision of the Democratic Party. Williams was a volunteer at the 2000 Democratic National Convention. He attended nearly all State conventions and most Executive Board meetings up and down the state.


In 1997, Marilyn Landau, Director, Region 17 recognized him for his outstanding service and dedication to Region 17 of DSCC. Now Harold wants to continue to help lead the 64th ADC into the 21st Century as a change agent of the Los Angeles County Democratic Party Central Committee.


Williams has distinguished himself by being chosen Male Democrat of the Year in the 55th Assembly District in 2002. Also, as a community leader as a Council Member for the City of Carson from 2004-2009. Currently, he represents the City on the Greater Los Angeles County Vector Control District Board of Trustees, as chair of the Legislative Committee. And he is a Commissioner on the Los Angeles County Building Board of Appeals. In addition, he is a member of the Compton Elite Communicators Toastmasters Club.
