I am a Los Angeles Native that was raised in the district I am running in. A product of Los Angeles' public education system, I went to Mar Vista Elementary, Webster Jr. High, and Venice High School. I have degrees from New York University, UCLA and Pepperdine, graduating at the top of the class. After 12 years of teaching, I continue learning from each class while helping to turn around my school - which was one of the lowest performing middle schools in LA and is now one that people are proud of. I believe in Public Education and know it can work. Because I teach high populations of students in foster care, homelessness, and with special needs, I have gained insight into many different avenues of policy. I wish to take this insight and use it to help strengthen the character of politics today.
