Member, Democratic Party County Central Committee; County of Los Angeles; Assembly District 66

Kay Jue is thrilled to live in the new 66th Assembly District and is looking forward to representing her fellow South Bay Democrats on the Los Angeles County Democratic Central Committee.

Kay has been a member of the County Committee for the past four years, first as Assemblywoman Bonnie Lowenthal's alternate and currently, as an elected member representing the old 54th Assembly District (changed due to redistricting). Kay's fellow 54th AD members elected her secretary of their delegation, a position she currently holds. Kay also serves on the Judicial Interview Committee, which recommends judicial candidates for endorsement by the County Party, and she has served on the Legislation Action Committee.

In addition to her County Committee work, Kay is immediate past president of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Democratic Club - serving a two-and-a-half-year term, was a member of the club's board in various capacities for many years and has been a member of the Democratic State Central Committee for six years.

Kay is a life-long Democrat who has volunteered countless hours on numerous political campaigns for 18 years. In recognition of her work and dedication to the party, Kay was named 2007 Woman Democrat of the Year for the 54th AD by the County Central Committee.

As a member of the Central Committee, Kay will continue to promote party values in her Republican-leaning community and encourage and support Democrats running for office in the South Bay. She also is dedicated to encouraging involvement in the party by making it more open and accessible to all interested Democrats.

Among the issues Kay is most passionate about are: eliminating the influence of big money in government, universal healthcare, women's rights, and quality education for all.
