Over the last twelve years I have been proud to represent the people of District 4 by opening Youth Uprising to enrich the lives of youth 13-24, opening a state of art homeless facility for families and those suffering with HIV/AIDS at East Oakland Community Project, championing Measure A for essential countywide healthcare funding, spearheading a countywide Violence Prevention Blueprint, working to enact the first of its kind (in the nation) Medication Disposal Ordinance, opening a new LEED certified Castro Valley Library, securing grants for minority truckers to upgrade trucks to meet new air standards, requiring the installation of surveillance cameras in high crime areas around problem areas to improve public safety, enacting local ordinance to regulate alcohol outlets to protect youth and communities, and championing the Ashland Youth Complex - County run youth center in partnership with the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District and the San Lorenzo Unified School District.

In the next four years, I will continue to:
- Improve quality of life for older adults and all constituents
- Host the annual Healthy Living Festival to celebrate healthy aging
- Implement and fund the Eden Area Livability Initiative which serves as the blueprint for quality of life improvements
- Infuse violence prevention principles in all county initiatives
- Provide funding for youth development programs
- Support the extension of Stoneridge Drive, as well as the State Route 84 enhancement in Pleasanton
- Hold meetings with constituents to improve government accountability and accessibility to make the county more responsive to your concerns
