I am married with 2 daughters (Katherine & Victoria). My wife, Amy, is a Registered Nurse specializing in research. I own BABS & Associates, a consulting and direct-mail company. I was a member of the Teamsters (Local 635). In my free time, I volunteer at the Jubilee Kitchen and donate to the Little Sisters of the Poor. I was born in the 19th Ward and raised in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. I am a graduate of South Hills Catholic High School, spent 2 years at the University of Pittsburgh and graduated from St. Fidelis College Seminary in Butler, PA with a B.A. in English. I was elected 2 terms as Judge of Elections and 3 terms as School Director for the Baldwin-Whitehall School District. I was a Pennsylvania School Board Association Voting Delegate for 4 years in Harrisburg. I paid my own expenses each time. As President of the School Board, we passed 3 consecutive budgets with tax decreases and no loss of union jobs. Helping children and enhancing their education was very fulfilling.
