Elected in 2008, Rep. Brendan F. Boyle is the first Democrat to ever represent Pennsylvania's 170th House district. In 2010, despite a national Republican landslide, Brendan was re-elected with 64% of the vote. In that same election, his brother, Kevin, was also elected to the state House from the neighboring 172nd district. They are the only brothers serving together in the state House.
