Economic Development and Growth will be led and driven by local business. We must support local growth, which in return will create jobs and a stronger tax base.
The City of Long Beach is not responsible for creating jobs. However, the City is responsible for bringing businesses to Long Beach that create jobs for our residents, reducing unnecessary red tape and regulations. Our City must do a better job at promoting and expanding local business, and push forward with private partnerships in areas once served by redevelopment. The Long Beach Chamber of Commerce, and local Realtors have brought in some outstanding partnerships into Long Beach, and I feel we can do a better job supporting them.
My wife and I have owned several business' throughout the years, and underestand the cost of doing business within the city. Local brick and motar need more support.
