I have considered this for many years, and have decided that I must run for Congress for at least two reasons. First, following my military retirement this past June, my passion to serve America still exists within my heart. Second, when I look around at our economy, at what is happening to America as we slide further into debt, I am frustrated by what I see. Therefore, I feel an urgent need to act in order to preserve and protect America and the ideals which have made the United States a great nation. I believe I am uniquely qualified due to my multiple professions, professional education including a Master's of Science and Juris Doctorate degree, military service spanning a 28 year career, and my commitment to serve faithfully and honorably as your elected representative.

I believe I am uniquely qualified to represent the 2nd District of Ohio. I have built many personal and business connections within Ohio over the years. I have, for many years, operated a successful small business in Cincinnati, which I believe will give me valuable insight into the challenges facing business owners. I have also become familiar with educational issues during my duration at Northern Kentucky University, where I earned my law degree this May, something that I feel was necessary to achieve my overarching goal as an effective legislator. As a commercial pilot I have been based in Cincinnati, and have seen how travel and commerce are a vital part of local and national economy. Further, in June I concluded my 28 year military career, which included combat action in the Gulf War, Kosovo Conflict, and Operation Enduring Freedom. Thus I can relate to the challenges and experiences of veterans returning from today's conflicts.

Although my military career is over, I continue to yearn to serve America. I have the drive and energy to help return the United States to its former greatness, a nation with a strong robust economy and with liberty and justice for all. There are so many issues I want to work on, both local and national. I hope to help restore faith in our political system and in our Congress, and to ensure that the next generation is not saddled with the massive debt we have accumulated. I look forward to hearing how I can serve you, the constituency, and help you address your own concerns. I am certain that through our dialogue over the coming months, you will come to know me better, and understand that I share your goals and concerns and will work to address them on a local and national scale.

Friends, I believe I can best serve you as a member of Congress representing the citizens of Ohio's 2nd District. I have been building towards this moment for many years through my military career, legal education, running a small business, and flying people and taking care of their lives over the oceans. I feel I am now prepared and ready to work for the people of Ohio and particularly the 2nd District.

Therefore, I ask for your support as I begin this journey. I welcome you aboard my mission to serve America as Ohio's newest Congressman. I know it will be a challenge, and I welcome it. I have my work cut out for me; first, in Ohio's primary next June and then in November's general election. With your support, it will happen. I ask for your prayers as I begin this journey. God bless you, your families, and God bless America.
