Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Jason Sorgini

Candidate for
Supervisor; Township of Lower Providence

This information is provided by the candidate

As a teacher of American government and a longtime student of history, Sorgini has always held an interest in all levels of government, with a particular desire to contribute to his community through local government service. The opportunity to run for Lower Providence Township Supervisor has allowed Sorgini to realize this goal. Sorgini has the unique experience of both living and working in our township and he is keenly aware of the many great advantages of residing in Lower Providence. Lower Providence Township provides many superior services to its residents through township government including a professional police force, a library that serves as a center of community life, and a parks and recreation department that maintains our wonderful park system and sponsors many activities that make Lower Providence a great place to live and work. Sorgini believes in maintaining these superior services while remaining fiscally prudent and limiting the tax burden that is placed on our residents during these difficult economic times. He is running for supervisor because Sorgini cares about the future of our township and he is committed to making sure that the quality of life of our residents remains the focus of township efforts, especially as we face increased traffic congestion, the need to attract additional business development to strengthen the tax base, open space preservation and clean water decisions in the face of suburban sprawl and the need to promote and the growing need for managerial accountability. Sorgini is the candidate who bridges the divide between political parties as evidenced by his support by both Republican and Democrat voters alike in the May primary.
