I have been honored to serve the residents of Nether Providence as a member of the WSSD School Board for the last 9 months. I volunteered for that position, and was unanimously approved by the school board, when an elected director resigned. I want the opportunity to continue working for our school community for a full term, so I am asking for your vote. As a board member, I recognize that each of my decisions has an impact on my neighbors, whether directly or indirectly. In addition to overseeing a budget of $65 million, the school board is overseeing the renovation at WES and planning the long-overdue renovation of NPE, which will enable new generations of students to receive the first class education which our community expects. I am an independent decision maker, committed to respectful consideration of all points of view, and focused on keeping taxes down and cutting waste, while providing our students with a high-quality, 21st century education. Working as a licensed Realtor, I understand the importance of maintaining our local property values, and have a working knowledge of the principles of business management, finance, construction and consensus building necessary to effectively serve the public. As the parent of an elementary school student, I have a front row seat on how instruction is delivered in our schools and how the district's facilities are utilized. The excellence of our school district and the sense of community we share have led generations of Nether Providence and Strath Haven alumni to chose to raise their families in our district. I am dedicated to maintaining the exceptional standards that our District has achieved throughout the years, while being mindful of the economic challenges facing many in our community. I would greatly appreciate your continued support this November, and I thank you for your trust. |
