League Question: What do you think is needed to attract Pittsburgh parents of school age children to enroll their children in the public schools rathe

By Regina B. Holley

Candidate for School Director; Pittsburgh School District; District 2

This information is provided by the candidate
ANswer: : The Pittsburgh Public Schools must utilize the experience of current public school parents when developing a plan to attract students. PPS needs to change their approach from a top heavy, corporate style to a ground level, student/parent focus.
Marketing will not attract parents, the district's primary approach in recent years. If elected, I will advocate for creating safe and nurturing schools that are community centered and hopefully, start to regain the public's confidence.
