Questions & Answers

1. What are your qualifications for office?

I have served on City Council since 1998, 3 terms as the Republican Ward IV councilman and 3 terms as an Independent. I chaired the Finance Commitee twice, each time leaving the finances sound and with a 'rainy day' fund. During my tenure as finance committee chair, we developed and passed the financial plan that is responsible for the vast majority of our infrastructure repairs and improvements that our City has done in the past 6 years.

2. What services do you believe should be considered basic and essential for the City?

Basic and essential services in our City include all that we currently offer. Police, fire, and service personell work in concert to provide safety for our citizens.

3. How would you balance the City Budget?

Balancing the budget calls for professional management and leadership that plans for today with an eye toward the future. Prudent evaluation of our current and future needs will allow the City to remain solvent.

4. What actions will you take to support clean air?

Evaluation of the city fleet for 'clean air' standards and controlling our 'carbon footprint' are the most effective things that our city can do.
