Questions & Answers

1. What services do you believe should be considered basic and essential for the Village?

Safety is the first priority. This is provided for the village through a professional police department and a volunteer fire department. The committed staff of our service department maintains our streets and provide safe (& may I say delicious) water.

2. How would you balance the Village Budget?

I promote Glendale at every opportunity. Our village is financed through a portion of collected property taxes. To reduce the number of homes for sale or abandoned I will work closely with area realtors and school administration to promote Glendale as a desirable community in which to purchase a home. As a member of council & chair of the utility committee I am responsible to collaborate with the service and water department managers to insure efficient, stream-lined budget. In this challenging economic environment hard decisions will need to be made; the value of most properties has been reduced but costs of materials and services continue to increase. Council is currently examining the 20112 budget in order to recoup a 20% deficit in funds. My office will always be open to residents who wish to share concerns and suggestions.

3. What actions will you take to support clean air?

The Village of Glendale benefits from three commercial zones featuring fine dining and shops; we have no industry. We remain a Tree City USA with an aggressive curb-side 'tree planting' program. We consciously preserve green space.
