SPECIAL EDUCATION

By Norman V. Lee

Candidate for District; Stanislaus County Board of Education; Area 3

This information is provided by the candidate
Assure that special education students receive a quality education
There is a current study to consider moving all special education programs operated by the Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE) to a local district(s). Based on my background and past administrator of these programs, I am in a perfect position to provide assistance and support to SCOE and school districts in Area 3. SCOE could lose $30 million of their budget and a work force reduction of 400 employees. This is a very important issue for the Stanislaus County Office of Education and will take collaboration and compromise by all stakeholders to ensure that special needs children continue to receive a quality education in Stanislaus County.
