After graduating from Bentley University in 1989, I began pursuing a position in the Law Enforcement Community. I worked in the construction and the food service industry in Massachusetts before joining the Army National Guard in 1991. Upon completion of my Military Police Basic Training, I moved to California and began teaching sailing at OCSC in Berkley. I was offered a position with the California Highway Patrol in 1994 and upon my completion of the US Army Officers Commissioning Course, I reported to the CHP Academy in July of 1994. I worked as a Patrol Officer and Field Training Officer in San Jose and the Redwood City Area from 1995-1998. I was appointed to the Public Affairs Officer position from 1998 - 2002, in the Redwood City Area. I promoted to Sergeant in 2002 and remained in the Redwood City Area.
I continued to serve in the Army Reserve throughout this period and rose to the rank of Captain.
