Top Priorities


Protect our General Fund Reserves
Stabilize core services and reduce least desirable enhanced services
Achieve a balanced budget by Fiscal Year 2013-14

Protect property values
Continue to insure that home remodels are compatible with the surrounding neighborhood
Insure that new ordnances are in support of higher property values.

Maintain safety of our residents
Making sure that our Police and Fire Departments have the necessary resources to insure public safety
Insure constant updating of our Disaster Plan
Insure that our citizens are prepared for potential emergency situations
Ensure that roads and infrastructure are adequately funded

Work to provide senior housing and transportation alternatives
Bring affordable senior housing to the 15-acres.
Identify financial resources to sustain public transportation particularly to home-bound seniors

Support and encourage alternative energy sources
Review and streamline the planning approval process for alternative energy sources
Encourage businesses to incorporate alternative energy saving sources into their remodels

Insure that our Parks and Lagoons remain the envy of the Peninsula
Making sure that our park maintenance system has the necessary resources to keep our parks at their highest level

Maintain a business friendly environment
Work with the Chamber of Commerce to increase business involvement
Continue to work with the businesses integrating with the Chamber and the City
Work with business property owners to maintain visual attractiveness of retail property and attract tenants

Ensure minimal traffic impact from rebuilding projects
Ensure that everything that can be done is done to mitigate traffic congestion from new developments projects
