Welcome, and thank you for your interest in my candidacy for Millbrae City Council.

I maintain an independent political philosophy and believe that the position of a City Council member is not and should not be a political position. Although it revolves around political issues, I think one is best to serve if they put their ego aside and always remember that they represent the people and their community. Council members work with and for those who have elected them because of their ability to make smart and timely decisions for the people and the community.

I'm not a politician, just a Millbrae resident that has worked for the City and knows the issues that have been facing Millbrae for years. I care about our community and want to work with you on making smart decisions so we can move Millbrae forward, stop talking in circles and proactively plan for the future.

Millbrae has been facing the same set of issues for nearly a decade and the City Council can't seem to make decisions to resolve these issues. This has been a costly problem for the city and has been an inefficient use of resources and staff time. We need to look at things differently and with new ideas. It's time to change directions and the thought process behind the way Millbrae conducts business. We can no longer accept words like "Maintain" "Lean & Mean" and "Status Quo" because Millbrae deserves better. We can't keep cutting, down sizing and contracting out our city services or we won't have anything left to even call a community.

We must focus on being Proactive & Rebuilding and Increasing Revenue, City Services and Commercial Development. We must be creative and look at new ways of generating revenue and attracting businesses to Millbrae. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. We must change directions and Move Millbrae Forward.

There is a lot of work that needs to be done and I am ready to work with you to make smart and timely decisions that will Move Millbrae Forward. As a City Council member, my priorities will include:

Implement a community government philosophy that would include quarterly town hall style meetings at various locations within the city to encourage community members to get involved and voice their ideas related to city services, community improvements and ways the city could conduct business more efficiently.

Review the budget preparation process to ensure realistic goals and objectives are being applied by department managers when forecasting their two-year budget plan and hold staff accountable for being fiscally responsible.

Rebuild our public safety services to ensure adequate staffing and resources that will provide the highest level of safety and service to our residents, businesses and schools.

Work on the development of Site One and make that project a reality while working with Community Development and the Planning Commission on recruiting larger retail sales outlets and service centers to other parts of our community.

Create a strategic plan that will outline measures for increasing revenue, commercial development and city services while addressing ways of operating more efficiently through sharing services and reducing expenditures and outsourcing.
