I was born in Costa Rica, a country well known for its democracy, environmental policies, and scenic beauty.

Growing up in Costa Rica, I gained a strong appreciation for the environment, and I flourished in the public school system that is the pride of the country. In 1949, Costa Rica disbanded its military, choosing instead to spend the national resources on education. School work came naturally to me, and I often found myself at the top of my classes.

In 1988, I graduated high school and began attending the University of Costa Rica, where I earned my Bachelors degree and Doctor of Jurisprudence (law degree).

I met my future husband in 1998 while he was visiting his father in Costa Rica. Since his father was elderly, he was not able to show him around, so I acted as a tour guide and showed him the points of interest in Costa Rica. He returned the favor by inviting me to California where he served as a tour guide to me. We married six months later, and I made my home here in Solano county. I immediately began taking English classes and became fluent. In 2002, I earned my LL.M. degree (Degree of Master of Laws) from U.C. Davis. During this same time, I went through the immigration steps to first become a resident and then a U.S. citizen.

Since then, I have broadened my education even further by taking classes in immigration law, various computer software programs, and the medical field. I have become active in civil matters and have worked on some local campaigns.

I decided that I could bring my talents, values, and qualifications to the table, so that the rate payers are better served.
