Statement of MARTY MILLER, Candidate for
Member, Cupertino City Council
Occupation: Businessman/Planning Commissioner
Education and Qualifications:

2011 is my 9th year as a Planning Commissioner. I work hard, do my homework, keep an open mind, and make informed decisions. As a Council Member, I will address problems before they become major issues through a proactive approach that includes greater community input.

My goals include: ensure that our schools are not overburdened by development; improve traffic safety around schools and in neighborhoods; and repair roads and sidewalks. I will strive to revitalize our business and retail districts, and balance our City's budget.

I have the experience to do the job, including an MBA from Stanford and 30 years of business leadership experience. I've held positions in product development, finance, and marketing with HP, IBM, and others. As Cupertino struggles with budget challenges and growth issues, that experience will help me lead Cupertino to a better tomorrow. My volunteer activities include Cupertino Rotary, coaching Little League, and School Site Council.

Cupertino has been my family's home for 31 years. I love living here and will work to make it even better. Please join Supervisor Liz Kniss, Mayor Gilbert Wong, and Vice Mayor Mark Santoro and vote for Marty Miller. For more information, visit http://www.VoteForMartyMiller.com.
