Jim's law enforcement career spanned 36 years, culminating with 25 years of service to the City of Sunnyvale. Acknowledgements attesting to the quality of his service include the SNAIL Neighborhood Assoc. which recently honored Jim for his outstanding community service. At the 2011 Kiwanis Key Club Conference, Davis achieved Advisor of the Year status. Public Safety recognized Jim as their 2009 Officer of the Year. The City of Sunnyvale clearly touted Jim as Volunteer of the Year in 2005.

To familiarize himself with City Council protocol, he has attended City Council sessions steadily for two years. Additionally, he has gone to all budget hearings, workshops and issue study sessions. Through his diligence, he has gained insight into the internal workings of the City and to the issues at hand. He has a plan that will increase City revenue without raising taxes or damaging City services. Jim is ready, willing and able to assume the responsibilities of a Council member.
