My 3 main priorities are:

1. To encourage best practices when implementing new processes

  • I am committed to making decisions informed by the best possible evidence.
  • This is crucial because the board will make difficult financial choices in the coming years.
  • We need to be proactive and allocate funds where they have the most impact.

2. Financial planning
  • In these difficult financial times, the board needs to invest time with input from the community to navigate these uncharted waters.
  • We need to create develop scenarios for the likely possibility that revenues will remain flat while enrollment increases, as well as the possibility that the state reconfigures community funded school districts.

3. Outstanding teachers
  • All the evidence suggests that high performing teachers are crucial to student achievement.
  • The effect of a good (or bad) teacher is measurable 2 years later.
  • I am committed to exceptional teachers, and support fundraising efforts targeted specifically at supporting recruitment and retention of outstanding teachers.
